The suitable rotational speed of a rotary kiln has no fixed value. It is mainly determined by the kiln type, specifications, process requirements and material characteristics, and must be matched with the slope and filling ratio of the kiln. The design takes the critical speed as the core benchmark. The following is the generally applicable suitable range and design specifications for industrial scenarios:

 Core Principles for Operation Adjustment

1. The slope of most industrial rotary kilns is a fixed value at the design stage. During operation, the filling ratio is mainly adapted by adjusting the rotational speed: when the feed rate increases (filling ratio rises), increase the rotational speed synchronously to speed up material conveying; when the feed rate decreases, reduce the rotational speed to extend the retention time and ensure sufficient reaction.

2. The adjustment of rotational speed shall be smooth and gradual to avoid large fluctuations. The single adjustment amplitude in conventional operation shall not exceed 0.2 r/min to prevent kiln condition instability.

3. High rotational speed shall be matched with low filling ratio and large slope, while low rotational speed shall be matched with high filling ratio and small slope. Only the coordination of the three parameters can ensure stable production and qualified product quality.
